Festival season meets soccer. The Fire will celebrate Miami Music Week with a match against Inter Miami in the Sunshine State.
A winless Chicago Fire team will take on Phil Neville’s Inter Miami during what will most certainly be a hectic weekend in Miami. Miami will be bustling with hundreds of thousands of festival goers as Ultra Music Festival closes this year’s Miami Music Week.
Away from all the craziness of Miami Music Week however is a crucial matchup between two sides looking to find some form in the early stages of the season. Miami have taken no points from the last 6 available, and the Fire have just 2 from the last 9.
The Fire need to get the first win under their belt to reverse their poor form, and this weekend’s game is certainly panning out nicely for the out-of-form team. The Fire are missing several players through injuries in Xherdan Shaqiri, Fede Navarro, and Jairo Torres, while Miguel Navarro is with Venezuela and Sergio Oregel is in Argentina with the U.S. U-19s.
Miami’s squad absences are potentially more of note. With Josef Martínez and Robert Taylor both on international duty, along with Leonardo Campana out injured, Miami are missing crucial players in forward positions. Captain Gregore is also ruled out with a long-term injury.
The match will be streamed for free on Apple TV, without need for the MLS Season Pass. Tyler Terens will be returning once again to call the game.
