Pain is something that has been with everyone since ancient times, and people have tried every solution to get relief from the pain sensation. Firstly, what is pain? Pain is an unpleasant sensation or emotional experience within a particular part of the body. Pain can be both acute as well as chronic pain, but here we’ll discuss about chronic pain. Chronic pain is pain that lasts for a longer period, for about 6 to 7 months or even for years. There are two types of chronic pain: Neuropathic pain and Nociceptive pain; both the pain are different. Neuropathic pain occurs when there is damage or injury in the nerves or the tissues, such as infections, surgery, Parkinson’s disease, and many others. On the other hand, nociceptive pain is the pain that is carried through the CNS (central nervous system), and there are two types of visceral pain and somatic pain. Visceral pain occurs from the internal organs, which can be felt in the body rather than the original source of the pain, such as migraines, bladder pain, and many others. In contrast, Somatic pain occurs when there is an outside injury within the body. There is a lot more detailed information about chronic pain; have a look at the blog here.
