Antiflu 75mg Capsule, containing oseltamivir phosphate, is an antiviral medication used to treat and prevent influenza (flu). It works by inhibiting the neuraminidase enzyme, which prevents the spread of the flu virus within the body. Antiflu is effective in treating both seasonal flu and H1N1 (swine flu) infections, helping to relieve symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, and body aches.
Studies have shown that antiviral treatment with oseltamivir is most effective when started within 1-2 days of the onset of flu symptoms. It can reduce the duration of illness by about a day and lessen the severity of symptoms. Antiflu 75mg is particularly beneficial for high-risk individuals, such as those with compromised immune systems or underlying health conditions.
However, antiviral medications are not a substitute for the flu vaccine, which is the primary method for preventing flu. Antiflu should only be used under medical supervision and as prescribed by a doctor.
