After a very solid performance and result on Tuesday in the U.S. Open Cup, the Fire will be looking to grab their second win of the week against Midwest rivals St. Louis.
This time, the Fire will be taking on St. Louis in the league where both sides have been struggling for form as of late. Both teams have won just one out of their last five league matches and will be looking to get back on form in the league with three points this afternoon.
In terms of injuries for the Fire, fullback Jonathan Dean is the only player who is 100% ruled out of today’s match. Beyond that, center-backs Rafa Czichos and Carlos Terán, who both missed Tuesday’s Open Cup match through injury, are listed as questionable inclusions for today. Swiss winger Maren Haile-Selassie, who was subbed off at half-time on Tuesday due to concussion concerns, is also doubtful for tonight’s match.
Chris Mueller’s availability is also questionable for today after missing training during the week due to injury.
For St. Louis, the same players from Tuesday’s match remain ruled out apart from Njabulo Blom, who has recovered from his injury. Joakim Nilsson, Rasmus Alm, and leading scorer João Klauss remain sidelined due to injury while Tim Parker will serve suspension due to yellow card accumulation.
